MySQL REVOKE Statement

Revoke statement is used to revoke privileges of system or objects from MySQL user accounts. It is opposite to grant statement.

MySQL REVOKE Statement Syntax:

REVOKE priv_type [(column_list)] [, priv_type [(column_list)]] ... ON [object_type] priv_level FROM user [, user] ... REVOKE ALL [PRIVILEGES], GRANT OPTION FROM user [, user] ... REVOKE PROXY ON user FROM user [, user]

Example:

To revoke INSERT from user k2admin.

REVOKE INSERT ON *.* FROM 'k2admin'@'localhost';

2. To Revoke all privileges on mysql database from user ‘k2admin’

REVOKE ALL PRIVILEGES on mysql.* FROM 'k2admin'@'localhost';
