MySQL Truncate Table

Truncate table is similar to DELETE statement. Truncate is faster than Delete. Truncate operations cause an implicit commit, and so cannot be rolled back. Truncate requires the DROP privilege.

Truncate Table:

mysql> truncate table EMP_NEW; Query OK, 0 rows affected (0.08 sec) mysql> show tables; +-------------------+ | Tables_in_company | +-------------------+ | EMP | | EMP_NEW | +-------------------+ 2 rows in set (0.00 sec) mysql> select * from EMP_NEW; Empty set (0.00 sec)
